UX Presentations

In mid-2016, monthly Product Design Brown Bag sessions were scheduled in an effort to share ideas and strategy with other design teams in the CoStar Group family. Over the course of two years, I gave four presentations on the activities of the Busines-For-Sale team as well as covering topics related to UX best practices.

Presented Summer 2016

UX & Psychology for Digital Behavior Change

In early 2016 the Sr. UX Designer and I attended Brian Cugleman's Psychology for Digital Behavior Change in San Francisco, CA. Brian Cugelman, Ph.D. is an expert in the field of behavioral science with a focus on digital engagement.

The content of my first UX talk was pulled from this training and presented to members of the cross-functional team to give them a peek into a fundamental approach to user experience.

Building a Feedback-Rich Culture

In Summer of 2018 I attended professional training with Cooper Professional covering various topics related to Design Leadership. At the time, I had been reading Kim Scott's Radical Candor detailing the positive effects of a feedback-rich culture.

This presentation was an amalgamation of these two events and was presented to the Product Design Brown Bag group in Q3 2018. The Q&A session afterward gave team members a great opportunity to share ideas and experiences to build upon.

Usability Study Findings

In late 2018, I lead the effort to conduct a usability study to gather insights into user patterns and behaviors engaging with the search feature on BizBuySell. This presentation was given at both the Product Design Brown Bag session and out quarterly cross-functional team meeting for the Business-For-Sale business unit.

Impact

These presentations were created to share knowledge with my peers and advance the culture of UX within the organization.

The Product Design Brown Bags were created by Sr. Product Analyst, Samira Bhandari at the corporate headquarters based in Washington D.C. When Samira moved onto her next venture she handed ownership over to me based on my passion for and involvement in the platform. I, in turn, was thrilled to hand it over to a hungry UX Designer based in the Richmond, VA group.
