My Role

In late 2010, while working for Aquent Creative Services, I was assigned to Biotage to provide web and print design support for a period of 3 months. After working for the biotech company a few weeks, that contract was extended an additional year so we could dive deep into a complete redesign of marketing and product materials from sell sheets to product catalogs, tradeshow materials and a full rebrand and UX overhaul of the company website.

Working within the constraints of a CMS

Home Screen UX/UI Redesign

A significant amount of the work I performed at Biotage was the cleanup and redesign of biotage.com. At the time, the site had been developed using a proprietary CMS with limited customization options. To keep within budget UI efforts were focused on making the navigation more efficient and improving the UI of high-profile screens.

To better focus on popular product lines a hero panel was introduced along with an icon-based product category panel to rapidly get customers to what they were looking for.
